swop 2021 (Shanghai World of Packaging) jointly held by Messe Dusseldorf (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd., will be returning to halls N1-N5 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) on November 23-25, 2021. swop 2021 is a member of interpack alliance, the world’s leading exhibition for packaging machinery and processing. swop 2021 will feature products from terminal industries such as food and beverage, confectionary, bakery, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, non-food consumer goods, and industrial goods, providing an exceptional platform for Chinese manufacturers of processing and packaging machinery, and producers of packaging materials.

The SAVE FOOD Special Zone—Exploring New Possibilities
The Save Food Special Zone is a proposal by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN and Messe Dusseldorf GmbH to address global food waste and consumption. Save Food seeks to promote dialogue through global networks of business, politics and research, and aims to assist in formulating solutions relevant to food value chains. Save Food will once again make an appearance at SWOP 2021. In the main exhibition special zone, a forum will be held to focus on reducing food waste and consumption through the use of advanced processing and packaging technology, innovative packaging materials, and processing methods throughout the industry chain.
The FMCG Future Zone—Bringing resources together
In 2022, Chinese B2B market for FMCG will continue to grow rapidly, driven by comprehensive regional development. Transactions are expected to reach 442.8 billion yuan. For many manufacturers of packaging materials and products, the market for FMCG has vast potential. swop 2021 will mark the fourth time collaborating with PKG Family to create an FMCG future Zone. This zone will showcase packaging material products and design services, logistical packaging materials, innovative packaging materials like films and masterbatch, and traditional packaging materials, such as paper, plastic, metal, and glass. It seeks to create channels and platforms for high-efficiency communication, establish the most valuable production chain ecosystem for FMCG, gather together industry elites, and create a digest of industry literature.
The Smart Packaging Zone—Great potential in the IoT era
The global smart packaging industry market is expected to show an annual compound growth rate of nearly 8%, and the Chinese smart packaging industry market could exceed 200 billion yuan by 2023. The rise of the IoT (Internet of Things) era in China will trigger a rise in the use of smart packaging in the food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical sectors. The Smart Packaging Zone will offer an in-depth display of functional smart packaging, structural smart packaging, informational smart packaging, and related technical applications.
The Printing & Labelling Zone—China in the context of global printing
China has already surpassed the US to become the largest packaging and printing market in the world.
