Nestle launches snack bars in recyclable paper wrapper
2019-07-11
Nestle is set to start distribution of its new Yes! snack bar. The confectionary bar uses a recyclable paper wrapper.
This is the first time a product of this type has been packaged using high-speed flow wrap technology.
Nestle states that this introduction has 'unlocked the potential for recyclable paper packaging to be used in the confectionary industry’.
Up until now, high-speed production of shelf-stable snacks was only possible using plastic films and laminates.
Now paper can be used at a large scale, while guaranteeing product quality and freshness over the shelf life.
The wrapper is a step in Nestle’s commitment to making all its packaging recyclable or reusable by 2025. The paper is sourced from sustainable sources, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and The Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification.
The Yes! bar is being launched in a series of European countries, including the UK and Ireland.
